Migratory Bird Days on Juist: Experience Bird Migration at Night
Not a nighttime museum tour, but an equally exciting and eventful guided tour through the Juist Woods. We’ll listen to the birds both up close and in the distance. During this night hike, we’ll learn lots of interesting facts about the annual fall bird migration. How do migratory birds actually navigate their flight path south, and what kind of “GPS” do they use? Do birds actually sleep when they fly—sometimes nonstop—from Siberia all the way to us here on the North Sea coast? We’ll find answers to these and similar questions on this nighttime hike. Let’s immerse ourselves in Juist’s nocturnal nature.

Accessibility Note: The trails in the Juist Woods are unpaved and include some bumpy sections over tree roots. Not suitable for people with limited mobility. There are no places to sit there.
