Art exhibition - Natalia Piatek: "When nature and rubbish merge"

28.03.2024 - 20.03.2025

The exhibition with the theme "Painting of Change: When Nature and Rubbish Merge" by Natalia Piatek will be on display from March 2024 to March 2025 during regular opening hours at the Altes Warmbad.
The focus is on the personal perspective of the island and its conditions. The fauna and flora integrate with the power of nature and human influence, everyday commodities become rubbish. The concept of merging waste with nature arose from the containerised consumer goods washed ashore from the MSC Zoe in 2019. The fascinating structures of algae, dunes, shells and lichen that settle on flotsam and jetsam find a place on canvas and paper. There are also works with fineliner drawings of the typical local animal species and the rough mudflats to discover.
We enjoy the island on long walks on our wide beach. You can observe that nature uses plastic, even though it doesn't belong there, to visually form an image that the viewer may like in terms of shape and colour.
