"We for Juist": This is the slogan of the community foundation founded in 2006. The foundation and especially the sitters and donors involved in it are all about bringing a breath of fresh air to the island. Among the many, many projects to which the Juist Foundation has dedicated itself are:
- Health and sport through the procurement of defibrillators, e-bikes for the welfare centre and participation in the solar beach wheelchairs.
- Cultural commitment through the sponsorship of the Classical Music Days and the launch of the Juist Music project.
- Nature and environmental protection, among other things through the maintenance of the goldfish ponds.
- Preservation of local history through the promotion of the island museum (formerly the Coastal Museum) and the two island cemeteries.
The fitness course at Janusplatz, the renovation of the Memmert fireplace, the construction of the boules courts at An't Diekskant and the webcam on Haus Margarete are also due to the commitment of the Juist Foundation. And together with the Heimatverein Juist, she launched the project of the wedding stelae in front of the Altes Warmbad: "The bond for life - sealed by the registrar and proclaimed on the Juist wedding stele!"
