Zugvogeltage: Der frühe Vogel fängt den ... Pfannkuchen!

12.10.2024 - 18.10.2025

People who like birdwatching and get up early can experience something: Around high tide - on this day at an early hour - there are lots of migratory birds on the salt marshes and near the edge of the mudflats. From the eastern end of the village dyke, you have a good overview of the resting activity and can observe oystercatchers, dunlins, curlews and other species relatively close up. Getting up early for birdwatching is not only worthwhile from an ornithological point of view, however, because afterwards everyone is invited to eat pancakes at Juist National Park House! Here, the national park ranger will prepare either savory or sweet pancakes on an open fire for you to catch. There will also be coffee, tea or cocoa - until you are full.

Registration: Registration by 11.10.2024 at the National Park House (Tel.: 04935 1595, e-mail: nationalparkhaus@juist.de).

Equipment: Subject to wind and weather. Please wear warm and weatherproof clothing. The observation stand is easily accessible by bike or on foot. Binoculars and spotting scopes are provided free of charge.

Accessibility: The path to the observation point is not paved. There is no seating available. The Juist National Park House is certified by "Reisen für Alle". A disabled toilet is available there.
