Mellow Melange: Töwerland Concerts on Juist
Mellow Melange: Their sound is intimate and chamber-music-inspired; their music is deeply emotional—spontaneous and improvisational, sophisticated yet blending pop with classical chamber music. Mellow Melange embraces contrasts and infuses their music with tension. Here is Mellow Melange as a trio:
Sonja Firker – vocals, violin, recorder
Ingo Höricht – violin, viola, guitar
Gordon Hamilton – piano
Performance Dates:
Mellow Melange will be performing for the second time as part of the Töwerland Concerts, from Tuesday, September 8, through Sunday, September 13, 2025, usually twice a day at the Kurplatz.
Special Mellow Melange Concert on Juist on September 11, 2026
"Euridice"
More than two decades ago, clarinetist, saxophonist, and harmonica player Bernd Schlott and violinist and violist Ingo Höricht released the instrumental album “Euridice,” featuring their own compositions. Cellist Christoph Otto Beyer was also part of the ensemble. The album was a huge success, and the catchy pieces by Höricht and Schlott were frequently and enthusiastically broadcast on the radio. However, the compositions have never been performed live in concert. Now Schlott, Beyer, and Höricht have teamed up with Australian pianist, conductor, and composer Gordon Hamilton and are eager to finally bring “Euridice” to the stage. And what better venue for this than Höricht’s favorite island, Juist—especially since Hamilton and Höricht will be performing on the island all week anyway with the Mellow Melange Trio. The audience can look forward to a whole series of live premieres. The 14 tracks from the album “Euridice” will be complemented by additional original compositions by the musicians, and the Juist audience can look forward to a moving and captivating concert evening blending jazz, instrumental pop, and neoclassical chamber music, performed by outstanding musicians.
