Not just for kids: The Festival of Lights on Juist will delight guests and Juist residents of all ages. Organized and planned with great attention to detail by the Juist Retailers’ Association, the Festival of Lights offers you many great activities.

Program for the 2026 Festival of Lights on Juist

Festival of Lights Rally:

From October 12–15, you can collect rally cards at all participating stores. Which stores are participating? You’ll recognize them by the posters and other signs on-site. Once you’ve collected all the rally cards, you’ll receive a lantern kit to make yourself at home or at your vacation rental. If you’d rather do the crafts together with other kids, the team at the National Park House is offering two group craft sessions on October 13 and 14—please be sure to register in advance at the National Park House to ensure there aren’t too many children per session. And don’t forget the lantern craft kit!

Festival of Lights:

The Festival of Lights itself begins on October 15 at 5:00 p.m. At the National Park House, right on Kurplatz, there will be waffles, bread on a stick, drinks, and much more to satisfy your appetite. And of course, there’s no shortage of fun activities either—with a wheel of fortune, a mini-railway, and an adventurous, exciting scavenger hunt through the National Park House, it’ll definitely not be boring.
The lantern parade will begin between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. So be sure to bring your finished lanterns! We’d appreciate it if parents accompanied their children.
And after the festive lantern parade, don’t just head home—the big highlight is still to come: the answer to the rally’s riddle and the awarding of prizes will take place at the National Park House. And you definitely don’t want to miss that.
