The island sets the pace - also for the cuisine at Danzer's. Everything on Juist is decelerated. That's why the restaurant at Hotel Achterdiek also cooks according to the principles of the Slow Food movement. Chef and owner Stefan Danzer places a lot of emphasis on seasonal, regional (e.g. the cheese from the Rozenburg/Pilsum company or from the Backensholz farm cheese dairy) and high-quality ingredients for the dishes served to guests in the restaurant's tranquil ambience. From fish specialities typical of the North Sea to changing vegetarian creations among the menus, Danzer's on Juist offers a wide range of culinary experiences. For all dishes, gourmets will find a corresponding selection of wines from Germany, Italy and France on the wine list.
What is important: The Wadden Sea is virtually within reach. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site and endowed with unique fauna, the location obliges not only the restaurant but the whole of Juist to act sustainably.
By the way - you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy the fine cuisine of Danzer's Juist. However, it is advisable to book a table for lunch or dinner at Danzer's well in advance, especially during the high season.
