Getting married on the beach of Juist

When the weather is fine, official weddings are also possible outdoors on the beach for an additional fee. You can find out more about this directly from the Juist registry office. However, there is no entitlement to this, as it is a voluntary service provided by the respective registrar. The decision for a beach wedding ceremony is made solely by the respective registrar on the day of the marriage and is usually dependent on the weather.
Since 2019, official beach weddings under the open sky are possible on Juist, a unique ceremony in Germany.
For romantics, from 2020 beach weddings and vows (repeating the "yes" word) are optionally also possible in the evening sun, i.e. late in the evening, weather permitting. For more information, please contact the registrar Ingo Steinkrauß at 04935/809-321 or at standesamt@juist.de.
